Science Project

Sassy and I have a science project for school. They told us we could do anything science related. We are both taking a chemistry course but of course, chemistry that would be fun isn't available to us. So we are doing a physics type project. Ever heard of a trebuchet?
Our project is to build a pumpkin flinging device, and then shoot it and come up with something scientific then. I'm thinking precision and accuracy or something like that. But so far we are having fun just building this sucker. It's as tall as me without the arm attached, and pretty just plain tall WITH the arm on. So far we've built the base, the uprights and supports, and attached the arm. All that's left is the sling, weight and actually making it shoot the projectile. Our projectile is TBD (to be determined) but the weight is ice melt, yes 200 lbs of ice melt. We only have another month until this slinging siege warfare device needs to be operational. So far with the weather hating us, that's gonna be a difficult deadline. We'll make it though. With my awesome hat and Sassy's ability to actually wield a power tool we might make it.
